The Doug Disaster

Rodney and his mate ( Doug ) were running across the carefully cut grass when there was a sudden heart beat of lightning. Falling onto the grass, Doug reached out to his friend but could not feel his skin covered arms. Screaming, he tried to open his tightly closed eyes but he couldn't bear to see the frightful scene. Everything paused for a moment. It was almost like the world had ended. But not forever. Doug slowly got up and tried to feel calm but it was impossible. All of sudden, a thought destructed his head. Could it be possible ? Surely not. Was life still around him ? Where was Rodney ? What was going on?
